High Aspirations Deep Roots

Inclusion

Knebworth School SEND Information

The Government has published a range of provisions to improve the quality and scope of support provided to children and young people with special educational needs, as well as their parents.

Included in these provisions is a requirement for local authorities to publish a 'Local Offer' of services for disabled children and young people and those with special educational needs. A copy of the school's latest SEND Information Report can be accessed below.

At Knebworth it is important we help all children achieve to their full potential, regardless of any barriers to learning.

In order to accomplish this, children need to feel valued, listened to and respected. We ensure they have equal access to high quality provision, and support their learning, whatever educational need they may have. Support may be on an individual or small group basis, either in the classroom or another part of the school.

Some children may need the support of an Individual Education Plan or further professional support from the Speech and Language Therapist, Educational Psychologist, Behaviour Support Team, or Autistic Advisory service.

We track the progress of our children every half term and hold pupil progress meetings where those who are at risk of under achieving are discussed, regardless of ability. Intervention is then targeted and parents are consulted either by the class teacher or by the Inclusion Manager.

Keeping parents informed is an important part of the process. If you have any questions about inclusion please see our Contacts page.
